“Some things are better left unsaid…go with the flow.”

Jalisa Armstrong

Jalisa Armstrong, Village Leader

Pronoun: She/Her

Jalisa is a strong, talented and independent Black woman from Bed-Stuy Brooklyn. Jalisa’s parents, family and life experiences have made her who she is. She looks to her oldest sister, her mom, her grandmother and her best friend for inspiration. Jalisa is a hard worker who likes to stay to herself. If she could, she’d tell her younger self not to stress over things that are out of your control too much, and to keep exploring new experiences for yourself!

Human Justice organizing has inspired her to become more invested in her community and to get more honest about who her community is, and that “making it” does not mean you have to throw others under the bus, and that if we put our minds and hearts to it, we can truly all rise together.  Jalisa is open to trying out new things, meeting new people and exploring new places since beginning the Human Justice journey. She is grateful and grateful for the filters and vision that bring her more awareness.
