“If it doesn’t apply, let it fly.”

Rocky Covington

Rocky Covington, Village Leader

Pronoun: He/Him

Rocky Covington grew up in many places - from Brooklyn to Queens to New Jersey and Long Island and back. Ever since he was a kid, he always knew he wanted to be a father - “family is my center, especially my kids. They made me who I am. Ever since I was a kid, I always knew I wanted to be a father.”

Rocky delights in his journey and smiles when people tell him, “Wow, Rocky, you are a different person now -  for good.”

“I’m a person you can count on. If I could, I’d tell my younger self to stay away from bad vibes.”

Since being at the Center and taking courses through the Village Communiversity, he is clear that his purpose is to educate his kids. Human Justice organizing has allowed him to connect with himself in deeper and bigger ways. “I can say with confidence that my purpose is to be happy and share what that is with others.”
